Kawasan Tour Kawasan Falls is a popular tourist attraction found in Badian, Cebu City in the Philippines. It is a natural waterfall of spring water which is highly visited by locals and tourists alike. Kawasan features several waterfalls. You will have to walk uphill for around 1.5 km to get to the first waterfall, which is the largest and the most crowded among the rest. There are souvenir shops along the path where you can buy accessories like printed t-shirts and beaded accessories to bring back home as tokens.

To get to the second waterfall, you will have to do another uphill climb for another 15 minutes and it is the same way you can access the other falls. The water from the falls comes from a spring in the mountain that spills into a wide pool below. The water is icy cold and crystal clear which makes it ideal for swimming and rafting. The area is surrounded by the lush, green scenery of the mountains which makes the location ideal for family gathering, a picnic or just to relax and have some fun in the water.

Kawasan tours are offered by several tour companies as a day trip or as a packaged tour that includes the other attractions within the area. You will have to take an airplane to get to Cebu City or Mactan Island and the tour company you will assign can pick you up at the airport or at your designated pick-up place. From the airport to Badian, it is another 3-hour drive. An air-conditioned vehicle, which could be a car or a van, will pick you up, take you around the tourist locations and drive you back to your hotel or drop-off place once the tour is over. Most of the tours provide a guide or facilitator who are very adept with the local language and could speak fluent English.

Some of the tours, especially those that will take 2 or 3 days may provide the accommodation along with free breakfast. Usually these tours that take you whale shark watching and canyoning will also provide life vests and a boat ride for a minimal fee. Whale Shark Watching Whale sharks or Butandings, as the locals would call them, are gentle creatures that abound in the Philippines seas, particularly in Oslob, Cebu. It is quite a distance from the falls and will take a few hours drive. You must hire a boat togo to the deep part of the water and get close to the whale sharks.

There you can watch them while on the boat or swim alongside and take pictures of the animals. You are forbidden to feed to touch the Butandings. You will have to pay extra for the boat and the swimming vests. Canyoning at Kawasan Falls This type of tour is only for the adventurous and not the weak of heart. It is also called reverse river climbing. Your tour group will be taken to the entrance of the canyon which is 1 hour away from Moalboal. You will be told to gear up by wearing helmets and live vests. After a 5-minute walk you will reach your destination, and jump into the icy water of the pools, which could be 10 meters high. Then you swim down the rapids and exit at Kawasan Waterfalls and Badian National Park. The tour usually ends with some barbeque prepared at Matutinao Beach.
